Piper Alpha survivor: 'It was pandemonium'

This weekend marks the 25th anniversary of the Piper Alpha disaster.

A total of 167 men died when a series of explosions ripped through the platform 120 miles off the coast of Aberdeen. Only 61 people survived.

The accident led to huge changes in the way the offshore industry operates.

In the first of a two-part series, BBC Scotland's Kevin Keane has been speaking to survivors Jim McDonald and Ed Punchard, along with Charles Haffey, one of the rescuers.

His second piece will look at what has happened in the 25 years since the disaster.
