Time-lapse: John Byrne paints the King's Theatre mural

Artist John Byrne has completed a new mural on the dome of the King's Theatre in Edinburgh.

The painter and playwright used the Viennese Baroque auditorium as a canvas for the work.

A team of painters took five weeks to complete the work which is part of a major restoration project.

"All the World's a Stage" features the Shakespeare quote, a harlequin and a flame-haired woman.
