Melissa Reid and Michaella McCollum 'fear for their families'

A Scottish teenager and a woman from Northern Ireland arrested on drug smuggling charges in Peru have claimed they were forced to carry the cocaine in their luggage by a drug cartel.

Melissa Reid, from Lenzie, and Michaella McCollum, from Dungannon, are due in court to face drug trafficking charges after they were stopped carrying cocaine with a street value of around £1.5m in Lima Airport.

Chris Bucktin, a journalist with the Daily Mirror, has spoken to both women, who told him they were abducted and trafficked to Lima.
