New heart attack treatment could save thousands of lives

A new, relatively simple way of treating heart attacks being pioneered in a Scottish hospital could save thousands of lives, according to heart specialists.

At the moment when someone has a heart attack, doctors clear only the artery which is blocked despite the fact patients often have other narrowed arteries.

BBC Scotland's health correspondent Eleanor Bradford went to the hospital to find out more.
