First trial whisky train sets off from Speyside

A trial has begun to transport whisky from Speyside to central Scotland by rail.

Bulk whisky and spirit is normally moved 200 miles by road from whisky country to bottling plants and warehouses in Central Scotland.

It is hoped the move will results in fewer CO2 emissions in a drive to reduce the number of lorries on the A9 and other trunk roads.
