Scottish independence: Lamont says Scotland can 'do more now'

The Scottish government has set out its view of how Scotland could operate in the event of a 'yes' vote in the independence referendum.

First Minister Alex Salmond described the Scotland's Future white paper as a blueprint for how things could be.

Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont has been critical of the Scottish government's policies on childcare and funding.

Speaking on BBC Good Morning Scotland, Ms Lamont said: "The cynicism of it is that you will get it after the referendum.

"If they were serious about the policy, if they were serious about supporting families now they could make more progress than they are doing."
