Mikaeel Kular: 'No evidence missing boy was taken'

Police leading the search for a three-year-old boy who has gone missing in Edinburgh have said there is no evidence so far of criminality or that he was taken - but they are keeping an open mind.

Mikaeel Kular was last seen going to bed at his address in the city's Ferry Gait Crescent at 21:00 on Wednesday, but when his family awoke, he was not at home.

Speaking at a news conference, Superintendent Liz McAinsh from Police Scotland appealed to the public to ''keep their eyes open'' for the missing child.
