Glasgow's Queen Street railway station in £104m revamp

Glasgow's Queen Street railway station is to be refurbished in a £104m makeover announced by Network Rail and the Transport Minister Keith Brown MSP.

The redevelopment is part of the Glasgow Edinburgh Improvement Programme funded by the Scottish government.

Platforms will be lengthened to accommodate longer trains, waiting areas will be revamped and the station will be closely aligned to nearby Buchanan Galleries and George Square.

Public views are being sought. Work is expected to begin later this year and be completed in 2019.
