Diana Gabaldon on 'Outlander'

The writer of the bestselling Outlander books, Diana Gabaldon, has been appearing at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Her novels tell of a World War Two Army nurse who time travels back to 18th Century Scotland at the height of the Jacobite rebellion.

The books have now been adapted for TV - and are being dubbed Scotland's answer to Game of Thrones.

In a BBC interview, Diana Gabaldon talks about her writing and why she set her books in Scotland.
