Stewart Hosie elected deputy leader of the SNP
Stewart Hosie MP has been elected as deputy leader of the SNP at the party conference in Perth.
The SNP treasury spokesman at Westminster received 55.5% of the final party vote, Transport and Veterans Minister Keith Brown got 45.5% while Angela Constance was eliminated in the first round of votes.
Paying tribute to Keith Brown and Angela Constance, Mr Hosie said: "The unity of purpose Keith, Angela and I have shown and the unity of purpose the party has shown, turning up in extraordinary numbers in every part of Scotland, has been extraordinary."
The post of deputy leader became vacant when Nicola Sturgeon announced her intention to stand for party leader in the wake of Alex Salmond's decision to stand down following the independence referendum.
