New measures to prolong North Sea oil and gas extraction

The UK government has said it aims to reduce the amount of tax the oil and gas industry has to pay.

Two Treasury ministers have been in Aberdeen to explain to company executives the changes announced in Chancellor George Osborne's autumn statement.

The proposals come as the tumbling price of oil puts pressure on the industry.

BBC Scotland's Steven Duff caught up with Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander to find out more about the measures.
