Driver tells of being stuck for 10 hours on snow-blocked A9
Drivers have been trapped on the A9, just north of Pitlochry, after a large stretch of the road was hit by flood water, snow and ice.
One traveller, Jamie Duncan, was trying to get back to Inverness to celebrate his 20th birthday, but he and his friend have spent the night parked in a lay-by just outside Blair Atholl.
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme he said: "We've just tried to get back but we've just been told that it'll be four hours before we're actually allowed to go through.
"I haven't had any food all night. I've got water from my windscreen washer so I haven't used that.
"We've got nothing but our jackets, so we turn the car on every so often to heat up a little bit and keep us warm."
