Brigade fined £54,000 over firefighter death

The Scottish Fire and Rescue service has been fined £54,000 after admitting health and safety breaches that contributed to the death of a firefighter.

Ewan Williamson died while tackling a blaze at the Balmoral bar in Edinburgh in 2009.

His family have said there are serious issues around firefighter safety that still need to be addressed.
