Parents warned of liquitab dangers

New legislation from the European Commission aims to make brightly-coloured laundry capsules taste bitter and therefore less attractive to children.

BBC Scotland health correspondent Eleanor Bradford highlighted the danger posed by the liquitabs, which look like brightly-coloured sweets, after children had been burned by them.

All gel capsules will have to have a bitter-tasting flavour to make them unpalatable from 1 June although it could take several months before all shops are selling the new stock.
