Police Scotland apology over fatal crash: 'We got it wrong'

Scotland's most senior police officer apologises to the families of John Yuill and Lamara Bell over their handling an accident report.

Officers found the body of Mr Yuill and his seriously injured partner Ms Bell just off the M9, near Stirling, on Wednesday.

The crash had been reported to them on Sunday morning but had not been followed up, despite the couple being reported missing by family.

Sir Stephen House, chief constable of Police Scotland, told the BBC: "We didn't do the right thing here. We got this as wrong as an organisation."
