New postmaster for world's oldest post office
A new postmaster has taken over the running of the world's oldest post office which will reopen in Sanquhar following a refurbishment.
Dr Manzoor Alam, a stamp collector and historian from Birmingham, was appointed in December but has only recently taken up the post.
His appointment secures the future of the historic facility which has been in continuous service since 1712.
BBC Scotland's Suzanne Allan has been to meet him.
