Dairy farmers clear supermarket shelves in protest over milk prices

Dairy farmers have been protesting at the low price they receive for supplying supermarkets.

In Ayr and Kilmarnock, farmers and their families filmed themselves buying all the milk off the shelves before handing it out to passers-by outside the premises, in an effort to highlight the loss they say they are making each day.

Ayrshire dairy farmer and campaigner Bryce Cunningham, one of the organisers of Monday evening's protest, told the BBC that many in the industry are on the brink of bankruptcy.

The Victoria Derbyshire programme's Dan Johnson reports from the first protest by farmers in Scotland.
