BFI film shows Model T driven down Ben Nevis in 1911

Footage from the early 1900s has been unearthed of the remarkable journey of a vintage car being driven down Ben Nevis.

The American Ford Model T was launched from the top of Britain's highest mountain in 1911 when cars themselves were thin on the ground.

The British Film Institute's Britain on Film project includes films and news reels which have been digitised and are now available to watch free online on the BFI player.
