Aberdeen summit to address teacher shortage
A summit is being held in Aberdeen to tackle the growing shortage of teachers across the North and North East.
Seven councils are taking part, hoping to find ways of attracting teachers away from the Central Belt.
Recruitment in some local authorities does not match the numbers leaving, meaning the number of unfilled vacancies is growing.
The Scottish government says it has increased student teacher numbers and targeted universities in Aberdeen and the Highlands and Islands.
