Yachtsman sets new record for Land's End to John O'Groats sail

A yachtsman has set a record-breaking time to sail from Lands End to John O'Groats.

Phil Sharp, from Jersey, and his crew finished the Length of Britain challenge on Monday night in 83 hours and 53 minutes.

They had hoped for a faster time but hit light winds round Cape Wrath.

The skipper told the BBC that they faced other complications.
