RNLI captured in Victorian photography project

Photographer Jack Lowe has begun documenting every RNLI lifeboat station and crew in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

An Edwardian camera, using a process known as Wet Plate Collodion which creates the images on glass sheets, is used to develop each image.

Travelling around in his mobile darkroom, a decommissioned NHS ambulance, he expects the project to take five years to complete.

BBC Scotland's Calum Maclean caught up with Jack in Kyle of Lochalsh during his visit to the north-west coast of Scotland.
