WWI soldier's letters reveal life on African Front

Letters written by an Aberdeen army medic during World War One have been being published online for the first time.

Captain Sandy Wallace wrote to his fiancee describing the harsh climate, disease and food shortages endured during the East Africa campaign.

He was awarded the Military Cross for his actions.

Dr Peter Johnston, of the National Army Museum which has published his letter says they are a record of a horrendous time.
