Edinburgh Tattoo promises 'fanfare beyond all fanfares'
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will begin with a "fanfare beyond all fanfares" says the man in charge of the event.
Brigadier David Allfrey says the 250,000 spectators will see acts from as far afield as the United States, Nepal and New Zealand.
About 1,200 performers will feature in the 66th Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.
