'Green prescriptions' to boost elderly outdoor activity

A new report by the James Hutton Institute has said more should be done to encourage older people to engage in outdoor physical activity.

The research found that fewer than half of the over 60s questioned and four out of 10 over 75s said they took part in outdoor activities at least once a week.

The Scottish government study has suggested that "green prescriptions" from GPs could help more older people to exercise outside.

BBC Scotland's Lisa Summers has been to see a forest-based activity group near Falkirk.
