Ineos boss says shale gas shipments will secure jobs

The first shipment of shale gas has arrived in Scotland for processing at the Ineos plant at Grangemouth.

The tanker, which has arrived from the US, was meant to dock at midday but high winds meant it had to drop anchor near the port until the weather improved.

The Scottish government has imposed a moratorium on fracking in Scotland and environmental groups have criticised the shipment.

Ineos chairman Jim Ratcliffe told BBC Scotland the momentous day for Grangemouth would help secure the future of 10,000 jobs at the petrochemical plant and in the surrounding area.
