Time-lapse captures Bothwellpark Road Bridge demolition

The demolition of a bridge on one of Scotland's busiest motorways has been captured in time-lapse footage. Bothwellpark Road Bridge was removed from the M74 as part of a £500m road improvement plan.

The road was closed to the public while the work took place. Transport Scotland said the road reopened six hours ahead of schedule after the old bridge was brought down.

A replacement bridge had already been installed further along the motorway, between Junction 4 Maryville and Junction 5 Raith.
