Mystery of lost wedding snaps found in old camera is solved

The mystery of a lost set of wedding pictures found in an old camera has been solved.

Romanian photographer Alex Galmeanu found the undeveloped film after buying the camera in an online auction.

Despite the film's age, he was able to develop it - and then set about identifying the people in the images.

With little to go on - the corner of an ivy covered hotel, a car registration plate from the early 1970s - he made an online appeal for help in tracing the couple.

Soon people were emailing the BBC website - and the pieces of the jigsaw were fitted into place. Steven Godden takes up the story.
