Schools' £120m funding to boost attainment

Headteachers across Scotland have been hearing how much they will receive from a Scottish government fund to help children from poorer backgrounds do better at school.

The support means about £1,200 for every child, in primary school and those in the first three years of secondary school, who are known to be entitled to free meals.

More than 2,500 primary, secondary and special needs schools are set to benefit from the £120m fund.
