Waterspout tornado swirls over Midlothian

A tornado has been spotted swirling in the skies over Midlothian.

The Met Office confirmed the sightings, with forecasters saying the footage posted on social media showed a type of tornado called a waterspout.

It was spotted by many locals in the Bonnyrigg and Roslin areas, Midlothian, at about 15:30.
