Coal mine to be used as electric vehicle racetrack

A former open cast mine in Dumfriesshire will host an electric vehicle motorsport event this weekend.

The Glenmuckloch championship, called the Hydro X Prix, will compete over two days near Sanquhar.

Ten gender-balanced teams will compete and the organisers say their aim is to make the event environmentally sustainable.
