Opposition pressure mounts on Health Secretary Michael Matheson to resign

The health secretary admitted his sons had run up an £11,000 bill by watching football using data from his parliament-issued iPad.

But questions remain over how honest he has been about the affair, with statements made over the past week appearing to contrast with what he has now told MSPs.

"He should have resigned by now, and Humza Yousaf should have sacked him," Douglas Ross told BBC's The Sunday Show.

The Scottish Conservative leader added that his was the only party big enough to table a no-confidence motion against the health secretary.

"This isn't about the data, it's not about his family," Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said. "This is about him misleading the public, and that's why I think he should resign.'

The SNP turned down The Sunday Show's request for interview.
