'It feels almost inevitable I could lose family in Gaza'

A Scots Palestinian doctor says she "cannot describe" how worried she is about her family in Gaza.

NHS surgeon Dr Lubna Hadoura, from Fife, has expressed fears about her elderly mother and other family members who are unable to escape the war zone.

She has not heard from one of her sisters for three weeks, and the last they heard was that there were tanks are in the street where she lives.

Dr Hadoura says she wants the UK government to set up a programme for Palestinians like the Ukrainian Family Scheme, which would permit British citizens to sponsor non-UK dependents so they can escape the conflict.

The UK government says it is helping people leave Gaza.
