Emma Caldwell’s mum reveals toll on family after murder
The mother of Emma Caldwell has said she has suffered periods of anxiety and depression since her daughter’s death, adding she can now “breathe again” after Emma’s killer was finally caught.
Iain Packer has been convicted of murdering Emma Caldwell almost 19 years ago in remote woods 40 miles from Glasgow.
Margaret Caldwell also said she was angry about how her daughter’s case had been handled since the sex worker’s death in 2005.
The police focus was initially on four Turkish men who were arrested and charged with her murder, however, the case later collapsed and they were all released.
