Police apologise for handling of Emma Caldwell case
Police Scotland has apologised for how the original inquiry into Emma Caldwell's murder was handled by what was then Strathclyde Police.
Police missed the chance to catch her killer in the months after the murder because senior officers repeatedly dismissed Iain Packer as a possible suspect.
Packer has now been found guilty of the crime, almost 19 years after Emma's body was found in a remote wood.
He was also convicted of 32 other charges including 11 rapes and multiple sexual assaults against a total of 22 women.
