Humza Yousaf tried to do Alba deal this morning, says Alex Salmond
Alba leader Alex Salmond says Scotland's outgoing first minister Humza Yousaf was still trying to do a deal with his party at 07:30 BST this morning - well after rumours of his resignation were circulating.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4's World at One, Mr Salmond claims the first minister had described proposals by Alba MSP Ash Regan as "entirely reasonable".
But a spokesperson for the first minister has contradicted this account, saying: "Out of courtesy, the first minister returned a call from Ash Regan this morning in which he confirmed there would not be an electoral pact or deal with Alba."
