Parents and pupils clean up wasteland park in Glasgow
Primary children in the north of Glasgow have helped clean up waste land next to their school, after more than 20 years of neglect.
Cowlairs Park has been plagued with anti-social behaviour and fly tipping - including the dumping of used needles, asbestos and household waste.
A Glasgow Council spokesman said the local authority was "working hard with the community".
He added: "We have been supporting community clean-ups in the area and financial support has been provided through our vacant and derelict land fund."
The council added that in the longer term the Cowlairs area has been earmarked for "transformational redevelopment" which includes the building of 850 new homes.
