Scottish Labour conference: Emotional Johann Lamont tells her story

Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont told her party's spring conference in Inverness about the "loving family" she grew up in.

She said she had a father who retired without a pension and whose employer did not care for him after he left.

But an emotional Ms Lamont added: "He was to his dying day cared for by a national health service, the Labour party's greatest creation - an expression of our collective belief that individuals deserve better."
