Politicians discuss dairy industry at Royal Welsh Show

Talks are to get under way at the Royal Welsh Show over the prices farmers get for the milk they produce.

It follows days of protests by farmers after a recent announcement by four suppliers of a cut of 2p per litre of milk.

Fears have been raised that the price cut will force some farmers out of business.

Ministers from the Welsh and UK governments will be holding talks with farmers and retailers over a proposed code of conduct.

The Welsh government has said unless the UK government helps dairy farmers it will consider legislation.

Rural affairs correspondent, Iolo ap Dafydd, reports.
