Hunt ban not saved one fox - Countryside Alliance Wales

About 300 hunts are expected to be active at the start of the hunting season, which began on Saturday.

A ban in 2005 made hunting with dogs in Wales and England illegal but hounds can be used to follow an artificial scent.

Peter Johnson discussed the situation with Dawn Varley, of the League Against Cruel Sports - who said her organisation was happy for hunts to continue as long as they did not involve animal deaths - and Rachel Evans, director for Wales of the Countryside Alliance, who claimed the ban had not saved one fox's life.
