Threat to insect pollinators: Welsh action plan put together
Endangered insect pollinators such as honey bees and hoverflies will be discussed as part of a Welsh action plan on Monday.
The populations have been on the decline for 30 years, which is worrying news for the UK's economy because 20% of Britain's cropped area is made up of pollinator-dependent crops.
Key partners in the Welsh government's action plan, including Friends of the Earth Cymru and the Welsh Bee Keepers' Association, will meet in Aberystwyth to discuss progress.
Prof Pete Barrar, director of the National Bee Keeping Centre of Wales, spoke to Good Morning Wales.
