Star Wars: Memories of the Millennium Falcon

A group of dedicated Star Wars fans in the USA have announced that they plan to build their own life-sized Millennium Falcon.

The spacecraft, which was flown by the character Han Solo, appeared in the three original Star Wars films which were made in the 1970s and 80s.

Up to now, the only life-sized version of the Millennium Falcon ever built was constructed in Wales.

It was made for The Empire Strikes Back in 1979 in an aircraft hangar in Pembroke Dock before being transported by lorry to Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire for filming.

At the time it was meant to be kept secret, but word soon got out.
