Wales floods: Denbighshire council inquiry focus on Glasdir, Ruthin

Denbighshire council will launch an independent inquiry into what went wrong when a housing estate flooded last month.

It follows an Environment Agency Wales report which says a combination of factors caused the devastating floods at Glasdir, Ruthin.

It says blocked culverts stopped water from draining from Glasdir to the floodplain.

Heavily saturated ground and the length of time the River Clwyd was in flood also contributed.

Hywyn Williams, corporate director at Denbighshire council, told Felicity Evans they wanted to find more detail behind the cause of the flood.
