Man uses ladder to rescue motorist in flooded ford in Llancarfan

A man has described how he helped rescue a stranded motorist from a flooded river by using a ladder.

With help from locals from the village pub in Llancarfan, in the Vale of Glamorgan, Sam Smith reached the woman in her Mini in a swollen ford in the River Carfan on Saturday.

Mr Smith talked to BBC Wales reporter Nick Palit. The car has been recovered from the river.
