Bodnant Garden on River Conwy opens as winter attraction

One of the most beautiful gardens in the UK has opened its gates during the winter to the public for the first time.

Bodnant Garden on the River Conwy in north Wales has views of the Snowdonia range and Conwy valley. It is noted for its botanical collections and 180ft (55m) laburnum arch.

More than 160,000 people visit the garden every year, and a special winter garden has been created as a seasonal attraction.

Rob Thomas spoke to head gardener Troy Scott Smith.
