Plaid Cymru's Leanne Wood: Welsh assembly needs more women
More women are needed as members of the Welsh assembly, if it needs a change in legislation to allow that to happen, according to Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood.
Presiding Officer Rosemary Butler has already written to political leaders in Wales to say that if the assembly is to be effective it has to reflect the people it serves.
Women make up 40% of the Senedd and Ms Wood says she wants an inquiry into the lack of women in public office.
She told Vaughan Roderick on BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement that if necessary she would back legislation to make sure there is a balance of gender, ethnic groups and people with disabilities in the chamber.
