Economic downturn: Women 'badly affected' says Bevan Foundation

A report by a think tank says women in Wales have been particularly badly affected by the economic downturn.

The Bevan Foundation said cuts in the public sector had taken their toll, but the increase in pension age and welfare reforms were also a factor.

Victoria Winckler is the director of the Bevan Foundation, and Sue Jackson, from Newport, was made redundant by Gwent Police after 23 years as a station inquiry assistant in September 2012.

They spoke to Felicity Evans on BBC Radio Wales.
