Wales organ donation opt-out: Health committee backs bill
Assembly members have backed the proposed opt-out organ donation bill but raised significant concerns about several aspects of the legislation.
The health committee has warned the Welsh government that it needs to be much clearer about the role of the family, the cost of a communications campaign, and health service resources.
The Welsh government's proposed Human Transplantation Bill would change the organ donation system here to one where people will have deemed to have consented to their organs being donated unless they have opted-out in advance.
But Health Minister Mark Drakeford said the law would not "ride roughshod" over strong feelings by close family members.
