Welsh Bacc worse for university performance - study
University students who studied the Welsh Baccalaureate are less likely to get higher degrees than those who took A-levels, a report suggests.
The Bacc was introduced to offer a more rounded education.
But researchers at Cardiff University found students were 15% less likely to achieve a first or 2:1 degree.
Student Tomos Povey, now in his second year at university, studied Welsh Baccalaureate at a school in Cwmbran in 2011 and said it did not "stimulate" him.
Geraint Rees, the executive headteacher at two secondary schools in Ely, Cardiff, has been at the forefront of rolling out the course. They spoke to Peter Johnson on Good Morning Wales.
