Neonatal care decision for north Wales under review

The first minister is to review the controversial decision to move neonatal intensive care services from north Wales to Arrowe Park hospital in the Wirral.

Carwyn Jones says he will take more independent advice about the service's long-term future and the feasibility of maintaining it in north Wales before making his decision.

In the meantime, Arrowe Park will be used when necessary in order to maintain standards of service.

Oliver Hides of BBC Radio Wales spoke to campaigner Mark Jones from the North Wales Health Alliance, who feared that the decision would not be reversed.

But first he spoke to Sion Owens, a father from Denbigh, about the care at Glan Clwyd Hospital of his daughter Betrys, who was born 15 weeks prematurely.
