Welsh rugby regions question WRU leadership and turn down meeting
There has been another development in the controversy involving the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and the four regional teams.
The four Welsh regions have declined a WRU invitation to attend a meeting to discuss the central contracting of players.
Regional Rugby Wales (RRW) says it will only discuss the future of the game through the Professional Rugby Game Board.
In a press statement released on Thursday, RRW also called into question the leadership of WRU chief executive Roger Lewis.
In response, the WRU said in a statement: "The WRU welcomes the desire of the regional organisations to continue discussions on how best to secure a winning future for professional rugby in Wales and retain the best Welsh talent."
Stuart Gallacher, chairman of Regional Rugby Wales, spoke to Oliver Hides on BBC Radio Wales and said they were willing to go forward to arbitration.
